Recap of Kitsap Transit Board Meeting 10/5/2021
A recap of the Kitsap Transit Board of Commissioners meeting, October 5, 2021:
The meetings are recorded. Click here to watch.
The topic of Harper Pier was not part of any specific line item of the agenda.
However, KT Chairman John Clauson provided a review of the 3rd Qtr Community Meetings he held on Oct 2.
Mr. Clauson said KT would be also evaluating Southworth as a location for moorage, and possibly a third option near Manchester! This was the first time he has mentioned these options to the Board; we are getting KT's attention! (Timestamp 1:11:20 on the meeting recording)
During Public Comments (Timestamp 1:25:55 on the meeting recording):
The Friends of Harper Pier Demand Letter was read by Joy Lee. 496 signatures were attached to the final version submitted to the Board. 4 additional signatures came in late, so our total was 500!
Kinne Hawes asked two questions. First, how would the Board fund additional consulting fees for studies of Southworth and Manchester? Second, what is the timeline of moving the moorage south of Rich Passage? Since it wasn’t in the listed Goals for 2022, does that mean it is a 2023 goal? (As this is a comment period, no responses were provided.)
If you logged in and watched/listened, thank you! Kitsap Transit surely noted an increase in attendees at the meeting.
The next opportunity to hear from Kitsap Transit about their plans for Harper Pier is:
